2400 AD – The fossil energy reserves of the earth are almost exhausted and Solaris is the solution
Space stations equipped with high-performance solar panels called Solaris circle red giants and send the generated energy directly to the earth using the new laser and wormhole technology. In this science-fiction space game designed by Brigitte and Wolfgang Ditt players try to solar mine the suns of other galaxies.
Solaris is a strategy game with many tactical choices won by the player who manages the tight resources the best.
The players are representatives of competing corporations on a Solaris, which is a space station equipped with high-performance solar panels that circle red giants and send the generated energy directly to earth using the new laser and wormhole technology.
In order to keep the solar radiation tolerable for the crew and the Solaris technology, the station must rotate, which means only 1 section of the station is facing the sun at at time. Therefore, use of the stations is alternated. If a company has managed to boost the energy at the laser to 7 or more, an efficient transport of the energy to Earth is possible.
After the energy center has been activated for the last time, the player with the highest energy at the laser is able to transfer the most energy to Earth/ is able to make the biggest profit for his company and therefore wins the game.
